Hear some fantastic music played in one of Canberra’s historical buildings and at the same time help support refugees at a great community event in Ainslie.
All Saints Anglican Church and the Canberra Refugee Action Committee are holding Jam for Refugees, a ten-hour concert of predominantly classical music which aims to raise both funds and awareness concerning the plight of refugees.
Following the outstanding success of last year’s Jam, the organisers have announced it will become an annual event. This year’s show will consist of a series of thirty-minute time slots featuring some of Canberra’s finest musicians, choirs, groups, and school groups.
Entry is by donation at the door, so feel free to come when you can and leave when you must.
There will be a sausage sizzle available between 11.30am and 1.30pm, and afternoon tea available between 3pm and 4pm. All funds raised from the day will be divided between Companion House, Canberra Refugee Support, and Manus Lives Matter.
Jam for Refugees will be held on Friday 1 June from 10.30am to 8.30pm in All Saints’ Anglican Church, Cowper St, Ainslie.
