A culinary gem tucked inside a public service car park in Woden, Space Kitchen was born out of the imagination of Canberra’s answer to Adriano Zumbo, Rick De Marco, and is the second venture following his first success, Ricardo’s in Jamison.
Reserved to ensure that the space doesn’t take away from the architectural design of the building, Space’s interior design gives a nod to the average car space, complete with cement and bright yellow features.
From humble beginnings, the menu creations have escalated into a bevy of creative flavours, unique textures and childish fun on a plate.
Rick has merged sweet treats and theatre into one, making dining at Space a truly special experience. This became evident when we were presented with the sticky date-inspired dish, ‘The Bomb.’ Lit with a comically-large blowtorch, the sparkler stuck on the top of the dessert creates a wow-factor that’s hard to forget.
Open for breakfast and lunch from Monday to Saturday, you have plenty of reasons to soak up the beauty of the food Space Kitchen is serving up.
