A step inside the Meating Room at Weston Creek Shops is like stumbling upon an urban escape – the atmosphere is electric, the fit-out is fresh, service is fun and relaxed, and the craft beers on tap are most definitely flowing.
Sporting and urban-industrial feel decked out in exposed pipes, a graffiti feature wall, re-purposed milk crates and leather plush furnishings, the Meating Room is a sure escape from your daily grind.
The café, bar and grill serves breakfast through to dinner. It’s a family friendly space with a welcoming and casual gastropub dining experience, offering an extensive food menu that caters for all tastes.
The Meating Room came to life after Robbi Khalil and two of his friends (now co-owners) Hamish Walker and Phillip Sacksady saw the potential to inject some much-needed life into the space previously occupied by Western Basement. Now, one year later, the trio haven’t looked back with the success of the business going from strength to strength.
“One of the reasons why we chose the name the Meating Room is because we found it very hard to find a good quality steak where you didn’t have to spend $50. We have a couple of great steak dishes on the menu that really showcase the finest meat from our region,” Robbi says.
Our top pick is the finger-licking beef ribs – a must-have coming soon to their new menu, which changes seasonally in line with the freshest produce.
