EQ Café Lounge is a well-designed premise with the ability to cater for a wide range of functions.

Situated in the heart of the Equinox Business Park on Kent Street in Deakin, there is ample car parking right at its doorstep including plenty of disability spaces.

Just to the side of the space is its Bakehouse, serving freshly made juices, sandwiches, cakes, pastries and bread made daily in-house – perfect for those in a hurry and after a bite to eat on-the-go.

A ramp with minimal incline or a short flight of stairs can be taken to reach the heated outside deck area and front door. As you walk through, you will see that the deck, bar and main floor are all made of recycled timber – much of which still has markings from its previous life.

In contrast to the recycled timber and antique light fittings, there is still quite a modern feel with the choice of dark colours throughout the interior and the feature of cascading and crawling greenery throughout.

On warmer days, the concertina doors and windows along the front of the café are opened to allow the outdoors in and create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.

A generous amount of comfortable tables and chairs ensure that you want to sit and enjoy a meal. The bench area around the windows and large bar table with a Samsung 64” smart TV plasma screen behind it provide a casual place to shoot down a quick espresso and catch up on the news.

Now you can beat the queues and download the EQ app. The process is simple: order your coffee through the app (it gets direct debited off your linked credit card), EQ will then send an SMS notification on its ETA and then all you’ve got to do is pick it up, it’s that easy!

Looking for a venue to host your next function or big event? Make the most out of EQ’s expansive fit-out and deck. It also offers an inclusive canapé menu for EQ hosted events and external catering solutions which include morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea.

“It’s a versatile space accommodates for a number of occasions and styles. We can do private dining, there’s a more intimate 40-50 seater space, and in the main room we can cater for up to 200 guests,” owner Wally says.

“We’ve done a few weddings now and they’ve been absolutely beautiful. Having this nice big deck is a big plus as well.”
