BentSpoke Brewing Co. has been a hive of activity since throwing its doors open in June 2014. It’s not only Canberra beer lovers that have been drawn to the busy brew pub in the centre of Braddon, but plenty of those looking to enjoy great food and the fun experience of some time out in a functioning brewery. Choose from a selection of beers to take home with 2L Growlers and packaged beers on offer.
There are 18 beers available on tap including 2 traditional hand-pumped ales, as well as a devious cider and ginger beer. Great brews such as the multi-award-winning Barley Griffin and the Crankshaft have been a hit since day one, however the relentless imagination of Head Brewer and Co-owner Richard Watkins has delivered seasonal tastes and one-off rarities. To put it simply, every trip to BentSpoke is likely to offer something new.
If you’re looking for food, you’re in for a treat. BentSpoke seamlessly integrates its liquid offerings into the kitchen – not simply as a great flavour match but by using many of its brews and brewery ingredients in all of the dishes across the menu. With a range of merchandise including glasses, tinnie sleeves, cycling gear, hoodies and more, get taken back to your Bentspoke experience no matter where you are.
Also, be sure to check out the seasonal offerings such as the Summer Seafood Specials and Beer matches. The evolving corner of the menu not only keeps in line with the weather outside, but also with what people are drinking, As the winter season comes around, and punters head towards the heavier flavours of porters and dark ales, you can experience a new range of flavours that take advantage of the tastes of the seasons.
Whether you’re sitting in the downstairs bar, or up in the dining area for a meal, BentSpoke is showing Canberra – if not the whole of Australia – that fine beers and ciders are very much a part of great dining. As such, a night at BentSpoke Brewing Co. is an experience not to be missed.
