Christine Anu is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of her debut album STYLIN’ UP with a tour and new album titled, ‘RESTYLIN’ UP 20 YEARS’ which will be released on 19 June 2015. The iconic album catapulted her career and established her as one of most loved and successful indigenous artists.
It is no surprise that Stylin’ Up, released by Mushroom Music in 1995, set Australian music lovers alive. At the time it was one of the most influential albums ever released by an Indigenous artist. RESTYLIN’ UP 20 YEARS features the original album plus two additional songs. You’ll be happy to know it features the hit singles, PARTY and COME ON and the iconic song that has defined Christine’s career, ISLAND HOME.
“I can’t believe it’s been 20 years since I released STYLIN’ UP. In many ways it seems like a long time ago, but also the blink of an eye. So many wonderful things happened because of the success of that album and the wonderful songs that appear on it. I am enormously proud of My Island Home and the special place it holds in the Australian Songbook. Then there are songs like ‘Party’ that still get played on radio and television and is still fun to sing live,” said Christine.
