The Social Club, the highly stylish and beautifully decorated interior black space venue in Kingston has received much love since it’s opening on Friday 10 November.

Situated on level one of the never outdated 1950’s Douros Building in Green Square right above the fabulous The Floral Society is The Social Club. The unique, multifunctional venue is available for hire for any kind of event – hint hint, Chrissy party!

The boutique event space has already shown interest as the most stylish and sought after venue – and who can blame Canberrans? It’s bloody stunning!

Renee Douros, founder and owner of the super successful businesses Planted, The Sugar Deli, and The Floral Society, had opened The Social Club as her fourth venture. An interior architect by trade and former event manager, no wonder Renee has succeeded in all her marvelous endeavors.

“I’ve had my eye on the space for a venture like this for years, so once our previous tenant retired, it was time to get cracking on renovating the premises” says Renee.

The need for a venue like The Social Club that is architecturally designed as a blank canvas space that rivals anything that’s available in cosmopolitan cities like Sydney, New York and Paris. Catering for any intimate event including birthday’s, work conferences, a product launch, workshops, or a full-scale wedding – it’s absolutely the most perfect place!

“We’re taking everything that annoys people about venues and flipping it on its head” explains Renee.

The very instagrammable and Pinterest perfect images of the space and interiors is fascinatingly beautiful! The Social Club is decked out with nothing but the finest finishes and furniture items including four-metre-high ceilings, Carrara marble bench tops, exposed beams, full-height glass windows, French gold hardware, handmade pendant lights and original timber floors throughout.

It’s definitely the little things that count for this venue including the blush pink fridge, handmade timber swings that hang from the ceiling, the overabundance of indoor plants thanks to Planted, and of course the gorgeous and luxurious bathrooms.

“When designing the space, I was inspired by the interiors found in Palm Springs, California with their old-world Hollywood elegance mixed with a minimalist, modern side and nice clean lines. Throughout the design process my intention was to add subtle hints of style while keeping the space relatively blank so that hirers are able to come in and make the space their own” said Renee.

The space can occupy anywhere between six and 250 guests in three different rooms within the space. For hire from $50 per hour with complimentary, value-added extras like your very own event manager, a fully-equipped commercial kitchen, tailor-made furniture and AV and speaker systems with Bluetooth and phone connectivity for beats and videos – what more could you want?

“Going back to our commitment to solving the common issues that come with hiring a space, we offer our clients complete flexibility in terms of food and beverage. You can BYO your entire event or we can take the hard work out and provide a delicious package for you, courtesy of one of our amazing catering partners” says Renee.

The Social Club is located at Level 1, 48 Jardine Street, Kingston.
