Game day is almost here again. This time, we’re ready to cheer The Brumbies as they continue to lead the charge on the Super XV Conference. Grab your scarf, your family and friends and get ready for another massive night of footy action.
The Brumbies return to their happy hunting ground at Canberra Stadium this Saturday to take on the Melbourne Rebels. It will be a fascinating match, with our boys getting a narrow away-win 15 – 20 against the same side in Round Three. The good news was that as well as taking the points, The Brumbies’ line held strong – The Rebels failed to score a single try while The Brumbies crossed over on two occasions.

In the broader picture of the Super XV, The Rebels will be desperate to return the favour by defeating The Brumbies on their home turf. The Rebels are currently third in the Australian Conference, only three points behind the reigning champs, The Waratahs.
You can expect another big game from David Pocock who is clearly relishing being a regular participant this season. He was an absolute weapon at the breakdown last week against The Blues and must have been devastated at the loss.
The Brumbies will also be wary of their growing injury toll. Currently the team is missing Matt Toomua, Scott Sio, Tevita Kuidrini, Jesse Mogg, Fotu Auelua and Leslie Leuluaialii-Makin, which isn’t a pretty list.
Given we play a motivated Rebels side this weekend, followed by The Highlanders and a massive clash against The Waratahs, the performance of substitute players will be crucial. Here’s hoping the stars aren’t off for more than a month, because after all this we’ve got the trip to South Africa.
It’s great that Hearts in Union is this week’s Match Day Charity. They’re a great organisation that assists players that have suffered spinal injuries as a result of playing rugby.
Needless to say though, there will be no love lost once The Brumbies step onto the park to demolish The Rebels this Saturday!
