Brema Group Annual Race Day at Thoroughbred Park – Fri 24 May

Beer Experience at Hotel Kurrajong – Sat 25 May

Executive Head Chef Saju Rajappan, Shain Winn and Tim Soutar from 4Pines have teamed up to create a beer experience like no other. Chifley’s Bar and Grill will be bringing you a four-course lunch matched with the finest of beers that will be sure to tantalise your tastebuds. Start your afternoon off right with a beer on arrival and hear from the 4Pines team to see where it all began. Aubrey’s Charity Fashion Show – Sat 25 May

Aubrey Chayson has designed a fashion show dedicated to showcasing sustainable and ethical garments with all proceeds going directly to Variety, The Children’s Charity. This charity provides scholarships and fun educational programs for children who are disabled, sick, or disadvantaged. All clothes for the show have been made with 100% silk and 100% ethical labour; and in keeping with the label’s vision for sustainability, tickets are electronic. Reconciliation Run 2019 – Sun 26 May

Get your joggers on and join for this year’s Reconciliation Run at Reconciliation Place on Lake Burley Griffin Canberra. This event will also be the official reveal of the 2019 Indigenous Marathon Project squad – 12 Indigenous Women and Men from around Australia are selected every year to participate in an intensive 6 month program. This is their first camp and event as a squad, and their first official run so come and cheer them on and run! The run is scheduled for 9.45am with a 10.00am start.

Reconciliation in the Park – Mon 27 May

Gather around Glebe Park and enjoy free performances, workshops and storytelling at the Reconciliation in the Park event this Reconciliation Day. The day’s activities reflect the National Reconciliation Week 2019 theme Grounded in Truth, Walk Together With Courage, which encourages Australians to engage in meaningful conversations to develop a deeper understanding of our national story and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. Melbourne duo The Merindas will bring their fusion of Indigenous, electro-tribal pop sounds to the stage as the headline music act on the day and there will be children’s amusements, food and coffee vans at the event which runs from 10.30am to 2.30pm. This is a free event!

Reconciliation Day at National Gallery of Australia – Mon 27 May

An event for the whole family in celebration of the rich culture of Indigenous Australia during Reconciliation Day. Join at 10am in the Australian Garden at the front of the National Gallery with a welcome and performance. Stay in the garden for Bush Tucker tours or head inside for art making in the new Learning Gallery, as well as weaving and a yarning circle on local history in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art galleries. The day concludes with a public tour of Indigenous works on display at 12:30pm, these tours continue at the same time daily throughout Reconciliation Week: Grounded in Truth. Walk Together with Courage (27 May – 3 June 2019).
