National Threatened Species Week at the National Zoo & Aquarium – 3rd – 9th September
Get down to the National Zoo & Aquarium this weekend in support of National Threatened Species Week. There will be daily zookeeper talks about endangered species as well as a special scavenger hunt for the kids to learn about creating awareness for the vulnerable species in Australia.
Opera Australia’s Madame Butterfly – 6th – 8th September
Prepare to be in awe thanks to Opera Australia’s enchanting show, Madame Butterfly. This story reaches across cultures to deliver a love story like you have never seen before. Directed by John Bell and inspired by Miss Saigon, the Canberra Theatre is to host this divine production which is complete with beautiful costumes, sets and voices. Capital Region Farmers Markets – 8th September
With over 100 passionate stall holders, the Capital Region Farmers Markets is a meeting place for local producers and foodie fanatics. Here you’ll find local fruit and veggies, fresh meats and handmade items from pasta to pastries, as well as food vendors and live music. A great place to grab a coffee, fresh groceries and yummy street food, there is also an informative events program including cooking demonstrations. Visit the markets at Exhibition Park from 7:30am-11:30am.
Watch Girls Run the World at Rugby 7s Tournament – 8th & 9th September
The University of Canberra will be hosting a Rugby 7s tournament with the best up and coming female rugby players from around the country competing against each other. It’s a free event and will be played over two days with only the best-of-the-best making it to the end. Who run the world? GIRLS!
Gin High Tea at The Duxton – 9th September
The Duxton is hosting an unforgettable high tea that puts a unique spin on the traditional set up by incorporating sensational gins from The Gin Boutique.
