If you enjoy wine and food and, let’s face it, don’t we all, then Tastes of Two Regions on Sunday 1 July at Old Parliament House is for you. With more than 120 wines available for tasting from Rutherglen and the King Valley, this event is a wine tasting tour de force, complemented by cheese and other produce from some of North East Victoria’s best artisinal producers.
Speak with the wine makers and passionate foodies, and participate in entertaining wine theatre sessions presented by Master Sommelier Rocco Esposito of Vue de Monde fame. Sample Prosecco, the sparkling white wine from the King Valley’s Italian winemaking families that has taken Australia by storm, or savoury Sangiovese, a medium bodied red from the famous Tuscan grape that is a perfect match with hearty Italian cuisine. Saluté!
From Rutherglen, taste from an inspiring collection of wines from one of Australia’s most historic wine regions, steeped in history with character and personality second to none. Sample Marsanne, Roussanne, Shiraz and Durif, the region’s signature red wine experience, and the incomparable, world famous Muscats and Topaques.
To cap off the experience there will be great coffee and light meals served throughout the day by Ginger Catering. We recommend you try the Prosecco matched with twice baked goats’ cheese soufflé with roasted capsicum salad, or Durif with Wagyu beef and cooper’s ale pie.
General entry fee is $25 and includes a souvenir tasting glass. Wine theatre sessions are $20. For further information and bookings Click Here or phone 1300 787 929.
