Fresh off the back of their praised debut single Train Wreck, Central Coast based husband and wife duo Adam Eckersley and Brooke McClymont are heading to the capital in February.
The Canberra show, to be held at the Southern Cross Club on Saturday 24 February, is part of a national tour in support of their new album, Adam & Brooke, which is to be released through Lost Highway Australia/Universal Music Australia on Friday 9 February.
“The great thing about the acoustic shows is we get to tell lots of stories about the songs and we crack each other up when we’re onstage,” Adam said.
“The shows feel like we’ve got a bunch of our closest friends in our lounge room. There’s songs that make people cry and songs that make people dance, so there’s something for everyone.”
This is not Adam and Brooke’s first foray into the world of country music. Adam has won an impressive collection of awards during his musical career, including 2 Golden Guitar Awards, both as a solo artist and for his work in the Adam Eckersley Band. Adam’s songwriting abilities also saw him score the APRA Award for Country Work of the Year for Give Her the World in 2015, as well as 1st place in the Country category in 2014’s International Songwriting Competition.
Country music fans might know Brooke as part of multi award-winning group The McClymonts. The trio has seen career album sales of more than 175,000, picking up 2 ARIA Awards, 10 Golden Guitars and an APRA Award along the way. They’ve also had 4 albums at #1 on the Country ARIA Charts, firmly cementing themselves as Australia’s top country music group.
After a series of successful debut acoustic shows in June and July, Adam and Brooke decided to expand their project with the release of their debut album and an extensive run of gigs. Expect to hear songs written by the pair, as well as tracks from The McClymonts’ and Adam Eckersley Band’s extensive catalogues.
