Dîner en Blanc, the pop-up picnic movement that was initiated in Paris and has since been embraced by cities all around the world, is coming to Canberra this March as part of Enlighten.
Register as soon as you can, as this invitation-only event will be nothing like you have seen before in Canberra. Our first Dîner en blanc is to be held soon on Saturday 2 March. All guests are to dress in elegant white, and bring their own picnic, table, chair and table setting. Another quirky twist is that the venue will not be revealed until the last minute.
“Dîner en blanc is about food, fun, fashion and basically people having a great time together so we’re very excited to have it as part of this year’s Enlighten,” said Enlighten Marketing and Communications Manager, Adelina La Vita.
“This is the first time Canberra will host this event and it promises to take the pop-up concept to a refined level, taking place in an unforgettable location. It’s a perfect fit with Enlighten which aims to be innovative and surprising at iconic locations around Canberra.”
Dîner en blanc is held each year in Paris and Montreal and has recently been held in New York, Milan, Singapore, Boston, Philadelphia, Quebec, Sydney and Brisbane. Canberrans will now join the 10,000 or so people around the world who attend these romantic outdoor dining events annually.
