After delighting Canberrans with their signature ‘FreakShakes’ earlier this year, Pâtissez is now set to launch a brand new store in Civic.

The decadence of their crazy shakes sky-rocketed Patissez to international fame, with the ‘Freakshake’ becoming an instant hit on social media. They now plan to take the ‘FreakShow’ across the globe.

The first new store will have its own line up of ‘FreakShakes’, as well as a ‘SuperFreak’ to share with friends. This mega milkshake can be enjoyed between 3-4 people. They will also serve sweet treats and decadent cakes, as well as lunch dishes and a new ‘Freak Burger’.

Bigger than its Manuka sibling, the City store is designed to provide an experience as special as the shakes themselves, according to owner Ms Petridis. “The new store is going to be more of an experience. The FreakShakes phenomenon has gone global so we want to take our stores to the next level.”

The décor is urban and geometric, with a ‘freakish’ beauty to match its menu. The walls are decorated with mural artwork, such as a Pulp Fiction themed mural depicting John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson with FreakShakes in hand. A feature shelf behind the counter is stacked with rows of Nutella jars.

So what can you expect from the new menu? For chocolate nutters, there’s a Nutella Cherry Ripe Shake, complete with Nutella garnish and coconut, and a Nutella Cherry Ripe cigar.

The fruity folk among us can look forward to the Patissez Mango Whisper, dipped in ice cream and topped with macadamia. Another tropical choice is the Fruity Freeze Watermelon Sorbet.

My personal favourite is the Ode to the Snickers Bar, a chocolate mousse and salted nougat masterpiece with caramel dipped in marshmallow. As with previous FreakShakes, all ingredients are locally sourced.

For those digging the ‘odes’ theme, there’s also an Ode to Bounty, a chocolate and coconut dream rocking chocolate mousse, coconut garnish and lavish bounty coconut decorations.

And if you’re hoping to put some ‘Freak’ in your Christmas, the festive season isn’t lost to Patissez! Their crimbo creation is lathered in chocolate and candy canes, topped with green ice cream, cherries, and a marshmallow and gingerbread star.

Pâtissez City is now open!
