Kicking off Friday 4 October at 5pm at Old Parliament House, Canberrans are invited to embrace that golden hour of an afternoon, where for some unexplained reason drinks taste better, stars sparkle brighter and conversions flow freely. It’s called the Twilight Zone, and you can experience it every Friday night at OPH.
OPH has partnered with some exciting drink partners to get every Friday off to a buzzing start. The courtyard will be activated with music, snack-y foods and crisp drinks.
The menu is sunset themed in admiration of Canberra’s unrivalled skies. Find afternoon delights such as Moonstone Arancini with feta and chunky tomato ragu, Horizon Fritters packed with zucchini and haloumi with a guac and sour cream dipping sauce, Hidden Prawns behind the Sunset boasting gyoza and sweet chilli, Yummy charcutier with char-grilled vegetable and Sun & Moon Calamari.
In celebration of that golden hour of the afternoon, you’ll also find hero foods such as Gold On Buns, a delectable wagyu slider with onion marmalade, melted cheese and pickled cucumber on a dusted charcoal bun.
Make your way through the courtyard pop-ups. A cute pretzel stand will be slinging warm Sunlight Pretzels with American mustard and butter medallion. Bentspoke Brewing Co. will be manning the Beer Bar. Sip on their iconic Barley Griffin or thirst-quenching Brindabella Cider. For those who prefer wine time to aid in unwinding after work, the Squealing Pig Wine Bar has Sauvignon Blanc and Rosé on tap! Plus, all the best from the Squealing Pig range including Prosecco and Pinot Noir.
For those looking to make the most of the relaxed atmosphere, crack open a can of spritzed Rosé or spritzed Pinot Grigio while you’re perched on the deck chairs.
Archie Rose are talking the reins on classic cocktails, leave the night of Negroni’s and Espresso Martini night caps in their safe hands. Lastly, it wouldn’t be Friday twilight without dipping into an Aperol Spritz to swoon you into the weekend.
Entry is free, click attending on the Facebook event.
