Prolific singer-songwriter Jackson Browne is bringing his musical magic to Canberra as part of a run of national shows.
Jackson Browne is the brains and soul behind some of popular music’s most touching songs, such as Take It Easy, Somebody’s Baby, Running on Empty, These Days, For A Rocker, Lawyers in Love, Doctor My Eyes and The Pretender. His acclaimed songwriting skills earned him a place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, as well as the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in 2007.
Jackson has released fourteen studio albums over the course of his career, with the most recent, Standing in the Breach, a compilation of ten profoundly political and personal tracks.
He is a proud co-founder of both Musicians Unites for Safe Energy (MUSE) and Nukefree.org, as well as being a member of Ocean Elders, an ocean advocacy organisation.
Jackson is certainly no stranger to Australian audiences, playing his first show here in 1977. In fact, this will be his seventh trip to the country since 2001.
Performing alongside him at the Canberra show will be long-time bandmates Val McCallum (guitar), Bob Glaub (bass), Maurico Lewak (drums), Alethea Mills (vocals), Chavonne Stewart (vocals), Jeff Young (keyboards), as well as praised multi-instrumentalist Greg Leisz (guitar, lap steel, pedal steel).
