The Uni Pub is a Canberran establishment, with 5 floors offering patrons their choice of entertainment to suit their mood. From traditional pub style and every code of football on the ground floor, to a pumping Saturday night in the Elevated night club featuring some of the best local DJs – including Robbie Blaze, Nemo and Tommy Gunz.
Level 1 on the Uni Pub is the Bar and Grill, a casual dining experience with an extensive menu offering Aussie favourites, a great selection of Italian and a touch of Chinese. With prices ranging from $10 – $30 there will be something to suit every budget.
The staff are friendly and will happily answer any questions, with a touch of banter should you wish to partake, and the atmosphere is warm and comfortable with big bench tables and comfy seats. The deceptively large seating area caters easily for groups and functions. To order your meals you step up to the counter and are able to peruse the steak and other main options before making a decision. There is plenty of beer on tap and the bartenders are more than happy to recommend a drink to accompany your meal.
The food is delicious, and with such a variety on the menu the Uni Pub’s food maintains an impressive consistency. The pumpkin soup is served with a side of bread and surprises with a hint of coconut and spice. Breaking from traditional ‘pub’ food the Uni Pub offers some delightful options including Tasmanian salmon with coriander dressing served on a bed of rice that is cooked to perfection. The combination of flavours is beautiful. In Canberra, the competition for a good burger is fierce but Uni Pub does it well! The eponymous Uni Burger boasts a daunting stature and a beef pattie to make your mouth water. For those in search of lighter offerings, the chicken salad doesn’t disappoint with a large serving of chicken on a big bed of fresh leaf and veggies with a light sweet and sour dressing.

Uni Pub offers a great casual dining experience, with good pub style food and more, with plenty of beverage options – you won’t be disappointed. With $3 burger nights on Mondays and specials throughout the week there is always a reason to try something new on the menu.
