Nominated for an Australian Music Prize for their debut record, progressive 4 piece rap/beats crew DAILY MEDS. are back with sophomore album SOUR MILK, a powerful snapshot of our times captured through ferocious raps, soaring vocals and next level beats. The Sydney rap crew have been on the road for the past month touring SOUR MILK, and finish up this week at their first ever show in the ACT this Saturday night.
Ahead of their gig at Transit Bar this weekend, we sat down with Roleo, beats producer for DAILY MEDS.
First things first, tell me about how DAILY MEDS came about and what is the meaning behind the name?
Daily Meds was the brainchild of Mikoen and P.Smurf, who called up Roleo and Billie Rose to assemble like Voltron, forming Daily Meds.
What is your biggest career highlight so far?
Doing our own full national tour this year, independently is definitely a career highlight – just being able to get out and meet people, play dope shows to people you don’t even know is crazy!!
What three words describe you guys best?
Colourful, Aggressive and Thoughtful…. wait…
Have you played a show in Canberra before?
No never – and we are super G’D!
