“Christmas in Canberra’s CBD is always an exciting time, bringing increased foot-traffic and plenty of cheer to our city streets,” said In The City Canberra CEO, Jane Easthope. “Our Christmas carnival promises to cater for all ages – particularly those who enjoy a ride on the dodgem cars or shock wave!”
Subsidised amusement rides will be provided at certain times during the carnival. $5 rides will be offered between 5pm-8pm on Friday, December 1, and between 12pm-3pm on Sunday, December 3.
The Christmas Carnival will be one of the final events for In The City Canberra, who are finishing up their role as the Canberra City caretakers. The City Renewal Authority will take over the responsibility from January 1, 2018.
“On behalf of In The City Canberra, we’d like to thank the city of Canberra, our Levy Payers, and the media for helping us along the journey toward creating a connected city centre that we can all enjoy and be proud of,” said Jane.
