We swooned and crooned to Chris Isaak …

The Chris Isaak concert was the talk of Thredbo village this Easter long weekend. After a weekend of picture perfect weather, the day started unnervingly windy but by the time the gates opened at 4pm, Friday Flat was bathed in twilight sun.

Silvertone set the tone followed by Jon Stevens from Noiseworks who took us right back. As the sun set, the rugged up crowd warmed their bones with schnapps and gluvine. But the cold was soon forgotten as Chris Isaak burst on to the stage in an aqua sequined suit and a lot of personality. He humoured us with his commentary and let us get close and personal by mixing amongst the masses as well as hip smacking with a few enthusiastic ladies from the audience up on stage.

Despite Chris being the lead singer, his band members were definitely diverting our attention with some very energetic guitar and cello playing and some eccentric personality types. A fantastic evening made all the more special with the magic of the mountains as a backdrop and the village atmosphere of Thredbo.
