With the footy finals over and the cricket yet to begin, it’s time for the Sport of Kings to come to the fore with the start of racing’s Spring Carnival.

Some of the biggest race days on the calendar loom ahead, of us, and Mercure Canberra is getting ready for the biggest of them all – The 2015 Melbourne Cup – with a fun-filled and eventful day planned at Olims Bar & Bistro.

There’s simply, no better place for a day of watching the races and having a punt with friends while soaking up the sunshine over great food and drinks.

There are a bunch of exciting things to experience at this fantastic free Melbourne Cup event. With an onsite TAB, you’ll have everything you need to take advantage of the latest odds and take a plunge on the latest tip.

Outside in the much-loved Olims beer garden you’ll find a pop-up champagne bar that will help keep your thirst at bay with champagne cocktails. At the bar you’ll find the usual suspects on tap and international beers and, of course, there will be a giant TV showing all the races.

For when you’re hungry, there will also be pop-up food stalls serving an array of delicious street-food style cuisines such as Italian, Mexican, Asian, Indian and seafood which will be available from midday.

With prizes and giveaways all day the First Tuesday in November is looking like one of the best in years!

The doors open at 11.00am and entry is free!
