Summer brings out the Aussie in us, while our local crafters from BentSpoke bring out the Aussie in beer.
Crack open a cold one with BentSpoke this summer. Naturally, the warmer weather brings out the Aussie in us. Seafood barbie by the pool, thongs down the beach and speakers playing on the back of the ute. BentSpoke have been busy in the brewery, bending the rules of a classic Gose German beer, adding light refreshing fruit aromatics and of course, slapping on some Aussie slang to create their new summer bevvie ‘How’s it Gosen.’
The BentSpoke summer beer is highly anticipated each year; this time around, drifting in for summer with a fruity, salty, sour ale. The How’s It Gosen is refreshing, zingy and full of sunshine. Most excitingly it’s the latest of the brewpub favourites to be canned, and Canberra it’s available now to try!
Gose is traditionally brewed with coriander, but in keeping with BentSpoke tradition, brewers and co-owners Tracy Margrain and Richard Watkins have bent the rules of beer by adding fresh mango and passionfruit into the mix.
“We were thinking of summer and our favourite things, like eating a pavlova at a barbecue with friends,” Tracy says. “Richard and I are big fans of gose, especially in the summer months, and we’ve tried to capture the essence of an Australian summer with this latest release.”
“We’ve kept this one at 4%, making it sessionable and refreshing, with a good kick of salt and a fresh fruit finish that makes it perhaps just a little bit too easy to drink,” adds Richard.
