Canberra Festival, an annual event that gets better each year, is taking place between 2 – 18th of March and still remains one of the best ways to experience all that this wonderful city has to offer. Through exhibitions, displays, sports, music, film, dance and theatre you’ll cram all of your possible activities this year into one, glorious, experience.

Spread over four magical nights, with over 11 Venues and 35 events, you’re sure to find something to do on Date Night. Not to mention it’s a great way to experience Canberra’s nightlife. Sure beats renting a movie!
Speaking of movies the best way to discover the next Spielberg and Scorsese is to attend Lights Canberra Action! Budding filmmakers put in the hard work by creating their masterpiece in just 10 days. All we have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy. Held at the Senate Rose Gardens on the 9th of March at 7.30pm, the top 12 finalist’s movies will be screened.
There will be lots of big acts and entertainment including the Canberra Symphony Orchestra belting out Hollywood classics, Short Stack headlining Celebrate in the Park and the Australian Ballet, all on Stage 88 it’s a great time to be in Canberra.
You could forget that a lot of Canberra monuments are painted grey when hundreds of hot air balloons fill Canberra with their colour. Canberra is also listed as one of the top four hot air ballooning events in the world.
Balloons fly close to houses of government and buildings of national significance. Held every morning at 6.00am from the 10 – 18th of March. Definitely a sight for the kids (just have to get them up early)!
