Love is all you need – but we all know love doesn’t come cheap. Or does it?
IBISWorld, in their romantic wisdom, have researched just how much Aussies will spend per capita on something special for that special someone this year.
It’s $43.61. Or thereabouts.
That’s based on forecasts of worldwide figures in the millions for spending per category, which include how much we’re going to spend on flowers, dining, chocolate and even lingerie.
According to IBISWorld, we’ll spend $621 million on travel, drop $53 million on jewellery and accessories, shell out $19 million on greeting cards and $89 million for clothing, for a total spend of $1092 million.
So when your loved one comes home on Wednesday with a $43.61 bunch of flowers, you’ll know why.
