This is certainly the thinking of Maria Ollman, owner of Swish Gear at Ginninderra Village. The local entrepreneur couldn’t find the right sort of belt, so simply decided to source her own. Eight years later, Swish Gear has expanded its range of accessories to include everything you need to complete your outfit.
“I look towards Europe for most of my stock – mainly Spain, Portugal and France. I like the classic sense of design,” says Maria. “We’re now ranging a great collection of jewellery that represents affordable style. Not just for women, either. We’ve got great wrist cuffs, rings and necklaces for men as well.”
Oh, and if you’re looking to express yourself through some unique body jewellery, Maria can certainly assist in perfecting your individual look.
As you peruse the cabinets and shelves, you’ll also notice the amazing nature photography that lines the walls. This is Maria’s other passion and expresses another side of her creativity and is promoted through her other business, Artistic Photography, Gallery and Gifts.
“I started with macro (close-up) photos of flowers,” explains Maria. “Now, I’m a fan of photographing nature in general.” The great news is that this art is perfect for home décor – adding a lift of colour and a natural feel to any room in the house. With images that can be printed on canvas, acrylics or metallic papers you can attain the right effect to really tie the room together.
