Summer j’adore *sigh.* The BBQs, the sundresses, beach holidays and for those who dare – the summer music festival.

We all know weekend-long festivals or even day-long are fast paced, energy sucking, sun burning events – but what do you wear if you still want to look great – while dancing for 7 hours under a 33 degree sunshine?

Take a leaf out of the book of ‘Coachella.’ The Coachella Valley Music Festival in California is the style mecca of festivals, with The Killers, Paul McCartney, Franz Ferdinand, M.I.A wowing fans last year. The festival is known for it’s fashion savvy punters and celebrities, who appear fabulous all day long.

The secret? It’s is in the accessories. A basic tee and shorts can be bought to life with a bright head scarf, like-wise a little 60’s dress can be taken to new heights with colourful resin bangles and bright frames.

The must-have accessory this festival season? 60’s inspired sunnies. They’ll hide your smudged mascara and give your outfit a retro edge.

Le Specs have released a vintage collection again this season, check them out at Itrip Iskip, Braddon. You’ll also find a range of ‘Melissa’ summer shoes in store, made entirely from plastic and in jellybean hues, they’re perfect for festivals. Best of all? They can be hosed off. Genius.
