Now that we’re officially into the warmer months, sun, sand and surf is constantly hanging out on our minds. Getting us even more excited is what we’ve spied as the perfect partner for the upcoming summer days and that’s the Spring/Summer 2014 TALULAH collection, Crystal Tropics.
This new Resort & Swim collection designed by TALULAH Creative Director Kelli Wharton is a go-to for beautiful beachside apparel and polished swimwear pieces. The collection continues to drive global growth for the TALULAH brand, now sold internationally through leading retail stockists ASOS, The House of Fraser, Neiman Marcus and Shop Bop.
With the latest collection winning our fashion loving heart, we had to find out more. Lucky for us, designer, Kelli Wharton obliged to answer our burning questions.
If you could describe TALULAH signature style in 3 words, what would they be?
Creative, confident and elegantly spirited.
Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from what is around me. Living and working in Byron Bay allows me to be inspired daily by beautiful colours, landscape, art and ocean.
I draw inspiration from overseas trends, lifestyle and culture, music, art, graphics and the team that I work with.
What’s the best thing about operating from Byron Bay?
Having the ocean at your doorstep and living a lifestyle that allows me to balance my work with family, creativity and personal time.
What’s your personal styling trick for swim and resort wear?
You should find a swimwear style that suits your shape, and then mix and match prints, colours, layers and design detail to make the look your own.
When you’re not busy designing, what’s your favourite thing to do in Byron Bay?
When I am not working, I spend my time with my family. We go to the beach, eat out for breakfast and spend time with friends.
