Experience a lifetime of bush knowledge in an iconic horseman show, direct from the Snowy Mountains, with fourth-generation mountain cattleman Tim O’Brien, at the National Museum of Australia, Canberra.
The award-winning Boggy Creek Show captures the spirit of Australia’s outback. You will learn about mountain cattlemen traditions, horsemanship, movie horse training, whip cracking and much more.
Come along and enjoy bush poetry and bush games for the kids. Local organisations Pegasus and Heavy Horse Heaven will provide a sausage BBQ and drinks for sale, with all proceeds going to rescuing horses in need throughout the ACT and surrounds.
The show will be held at the National Museum of Australia, outdoors on the grassed area at the loop amphitheatre. There is no allocated seating – in fact, there is no seating. Grab a hay bale or bring a blanket or a deck chair. If you love an excuse to dress up and have the perfect ‘country’ outfit to wear, then giddy on up!
Doors open at 5.45 pm and there will be a chance to grab a bite to eat or join in the bush games before the show starts at 6.30 pm. On the night, you will receive a complimentary ticket to the National Museum’s Spirited: Australia’s Horse Story exhibition so you can come back and see the show at your leisure.
