Here we go, people! The weekend is here!
Canberra is absolutely humming this weekend – there is soooo much going on!
Whether you’re a sport lover, a food lover, a music lover… or simply a lover, there is heaps to see and do across our fair city.
Enjoy!

1. National Multicultural Festival in the city.
Friday from 5.00pm.
You would have to have spent most of your life living on the moon not to know about the National Multicultural Festival. Canberra being the international little city that is means almost every culture on our blue planet lives here.
For those who’ve arrived in the Capital within the last 12 months, here’s the deal: For one weekend each year, pretty much everyone in Canberra squeezes in to the city centre eat, drink, dance, sing, and laugh together – proving that, at the end of the day, we all just want to have fun.
Check out our guide to being a romantic at the National Multicultural Festival, or check out the Official Program via the link below.
2. Brumbies v Queensland Reds at Canberra Stadium.
7.40pm.
Super Rugby is back, and The Brumbies are on a roll with a new CEO and a new sponsor. Hooray! Hopefully 2015 will see them improve on last year, when they came oh-so-close to making to the final.
Hosting the Queensland Reds is one of the biggest games of the year for The Brumbies. We’ve got a great deal for a burger and a seat at the stadium, so click the link below to get in before it sells out!
3. Battle of the Bands at Transit Bar.
Friday from 8.00pm
Canberra has spat out some amazing musical acts over the last couple of years (and keep an eye on Vallis Alps!). The next band to take it to Australia and the world might be down at Transit on Friday night as the best of the new crop takes to the stage.
OutInCanberra’s resident music guru, Jen Taylor, will be one of the judges, so we’re very keen to see what our suburbs have to offer! Be sure to head on down and cheer on the local talent.
4. Valentine’s Day everywhere.
All day Saturday
Awww… such a day for the romantics among us. Treat your lover to breakfast in bed, a delicious brunch, lunch or dinner, or simply wander around the Multicultural Festival while eating off each other’s sticks.
There’s plenty of things to do, but we’re here to help. Check out our Valentine’s Day Guide for last minute inspiration and your date will think you’re the most thoughtful person on earth.
5. Yum Cha at Akiba, in the city.
Saturday and Sunday from 10.00am – 3.00pm
There’s nothing better than yum cha, particularly if you’re in need of chasing away the evil spirits of the night before. Akiba, who has really turned Canberra dining on its head over the last two months, is bringing you a whole bunch of crazy flavours delivered direct form wooden carts.
Settle in for the best recovery session, and before you know it you’ll be eyeing off the cocktail list to start the cycle all over again.
