It’s not all bad news that summer has come to end. With the start of a new season comes new fashion and with it, new trends to try!

Autumn/Winter 2015 first arrivals have now reached retailers and with the recent Fall (Autumn) 2015 runways shows at International Fashion Weeks including New York, London and Milan, there’s no better time to start scouting the collections and planning your new season look.

Colour Trends
As you may have guessed, the usual contenders of Autumn hues return this season with an array of brown shades, the forever favourite black, khaki and even more grey than usual. Head-to-toe grey has established its status as a key look for Autumn/Winter 2015 – a win for the minimalist dresser.

It’s not all sombre news for colour lovers. Bold red, pink and purples in the form of wallpaper florals and geometric prints have made a notable impression, spotted on the recent New York and London Fall 2015 runways by the likes of Matthew Williamson, Dolce & Gabbana and MGSM, who goes particularly colour heavy for the season.

Seventies Silhouettes
The best way to ensure you’re rocking the latest season trend is to invest in one of the signature styles, and this season it’s all about the 70s influence. Think capes and ponchos, flares, wallpaper floral print and pussy-bow necktie shirts.

With signature styles that naturally lend themselves to the cooler months, the Seventies are an obvious choice, which means we can invest with confidence in these boho-chic silhouettes.

Oversize fur jackets and stoles
It’s no surprise to see fur taking over the Fall 2015 runways, as a key component to winter fashion you can expect to see its reinvention winter after winter. What’s the fur look to embrace this season you might be wondering? Take that last season jacket, put it on steroids, and you’ve got the look.

Designers including Michael Kors, Jason Wu and Fendi are favouring voluminous, oversize shapes, in both natural and coloured furs. If the full-on fur jacket seems a bit much for you, the return of the stole and fur collar trims will be your season go-to. However, take note of the cool new way to wear your stole, this season it’s taking a cross-body approach working as a sash.

Fringing
Playing on the 70s boho aesthetic, fringing carries through another season thanks to the likes of Tom Ford and Burberry Prorsum. From multi layered fringed dresses to fringe hems on wraps, the trend is easy to incorporate with as little or as much exaggeration as you desire. Spotted on light-weight kimonos for summer and wraps and ponchos for winter, fringing’s trans-seasonal attributes make it a worthwhile look to love.
