Woody Allen said it best: “I am grateful for laughter, except when milk comes out of my nose.”
It’s not long now until the Canberra Comedy Festival threatens dairy drinkers with another amazing line-up of shows this March. For the third year in a row, Novotel Canberra is partnering with the Festival to bring you a select series of three shows featuring some of Australia’s best comic acts.
You’d be crazy not to grab your tickets (selling fast) and treat yourself to Novotel Canberra’s great $20.00 Meal and Beverage Special. Why not make a night of it, and stay with the Novotel Canberra as well? For the ultimate comedy night out, click here for more information.
Tommy Little
Tommy Little might be familiar to you given his appearances on Channel Ten’s ’The Project’ as well as ABC’s ‘The Time of Our Lives’. You’d barely recognise him in the flesh, however, as this is only his second trip to Canberra, due largely to the commitment of hosting the Breakfast shift on Nova FM in Melbourne.
Approachable and incredibly likeable, his warm style has seen him smashing it on the national comedy circuit. Tommy Little’s is a really fun show you won’t want to miss on Friday 20 March. Click here for tickets.
Sparrow Folk
Canberra’s own all-singing-and-not-so-much-dancing double act, Sparrow Folk, will delight you with an incredible night filled with witty ditties. With a fun take on suburban lives, Sparrow Folk brings a ukulele twang to the seemingly mundane subjects of the daily grind.
Add to that lashings of cynical satire and a little bit of politics, and you’ve got the recipe for a great night out with the self-described ‘glam-folk duo’. The ladies are taking to the stage at Novotel on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March, so come along for a sing-a-long. Click here for tickets.
Dave Thornton
Finally, Dave Thornton is here to charm you his good looks and sharp wit. With a growing army of fans, Dave has toured the world’s best comedy festivals and continues to add to his popularity.
Another star of Melbourne breakfast radio (FOX FM) the hours of banter keep Dave sharp and on the front foot. Expect a rapid-fire evening of laconic Aussie comedy when he hits the stage on Saturday 21 March. Click here for tickets.
