ANZAC Day on Thursday 25th April is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand. There are many venues around the nations capital who are holding ANZAC Day activities.
The Duxton is open from 7am for breakfast – try their Duxton King Size Breakfast. There will be Two-Up from 11am all day, live sport on the big screens (Essendon Vs Collingwood and Dragons Vs Roosters), $5 Coopers, pitchers and buckets of coronas as well as a barbecue.
EQ Cafe Lounge will be open from 6am for breakfast.
Cream Café Bar, Urban Pantry and Public Bar & Dining will all be open from 6am.
Siren Bar & Restaurant is open from 6am with a $15 Gunfire breakfast and a free shot of rum if you are wearing medals, Two-Up from 12pm and a barbecue on the deck from 2pm.
The Dickson Tradies are offering a free bus to and from the dawn service, a free Diggers breakfast for active and returned servicemen ($13 for members and non-members, bookings are essential). Traditional Two-Up will be played from 12pm to 6pm in The Marquee and live entertainment.
The Canberra Irish Club is open from 7am for breakfast with a dawn service bus available for members for $10 per person. Two-Up starts at 1pm and The Canberra Irish Club are expecting around 500+ people through on the day.
The Canberra Labor Club Group – City, Belconnen and Weston Creek are open all day with Two-Up kicking off from 12pm.
