Ever lacked motivation to hit the gym more than once a fortnight? Maybe it’s because you feel like you should just throw on your oldest duds which can make you feel uncomfortable the entire time you are there! Well that STOPS right here! If you want something to help your motivation climb back up on par with the I WANT MY BEST BODY ladder then it’s time to create a small fitness wardrobe filled with chic and properly made to last fitness wear.
With the right fitness attire, it really is possible to look good on the treadmill. Here are some essentials that help me feel stylish yet ultra-comfy in the gym.
Runners
A great durable pair of runners are an absolute must for any type of workout, whether it be a brisk walk around Lake Burley Griffin or an intense cross-fit sesh! The comfier you feel on your feet while exercising the better, they provide support for perfect form and posture throughout your workout to also avoid any injuries. I love all the colourful Nike Free-Runs because they look fun and can be the statement piece when paired with an all-black (no sweat-marks) outfit.
Workout Tights
During Canberra winter I really love stocking up on a couple of pairs of full length workout tights. Lorna Jane has an extensive and stylish range in many colours and cuts to suit all body shapes and various workouts. A pair of three quarter length or knee length tights are great for indoor workouts where the temperature is raised.
T-Shirts, Tank tops, Exercise Crop Tops and Sweatshirts
All of the above are essential for exercise. All sports brands have many styles and colours available and are made using heat and sweat resistant materials to avoid odours, losing the garment shape and to give you great support. I love stocking up on Bonds for basics which can be found in most department stores like Kmart, Target, Big W and David Jones, and Lulu Lemon for fun fashionable styles tailored to all different types of workouts such as yoga and cycling. We are lucky enough to have our own Lulu Lemon store in the Canberra Centre!
Listen
Make a playlist on your iPod filled with up-beat songs to get your heart rate going and your mind and body in sync!
So what are you waiting for? Get back on the fast track to feeling great and being your best you!
