Wednesday night the 10th July is the Annual Big Bang Ballers Fundraiser; hosted for the Big Bangs by Tongue & Groove and Fambiz Entertainment.
If you haven’t heard of the Big Bangs yet they are a not-for-profit organisation who work with at-risk youth all around the world, utilising the game of basketball to bring people together. More recently, the team has just returned from running a camp in Senegal where they spent a week running camps and clinics for 1000 kids. They have also been running programs for girls in Afghanistan and Bangladesh, both empowering and enabling young women to get the most out of life and be seen for the wonderful, powerful women they are.
In addition to the work done in Senegal, Pakistan, Philippines, Uganda, Afghanistan and other countries… the Big Bangs are also doing great work right here in the A.C.T. Two young guys here in Canberra who have been very active in the local Big Bangs scene are Kalie Kamara and Gabe Junor. In particular they’ve been running Night Hoops at the Belconnen Stadium where on a Saturday night the stadium is open to youth of all ages & backgrounds to come together with the game of basketball. As well as giving their time for Big Bangs, both of these guys have been working on their own game as well. Recently, both Gabe & Kalie have been accepted into the Impact Basketball Academy – 2 of only 14 players from Australia who were selected. Wednesday nights fundraiser is a great opportunity to catch up with everything that is happening with the Big Bangs and support the work they are doing around the world. Check out the Website for more information or visit Tongue and Groove or Click Here to purchase tickets.
