If you haven’t already it’s officially time to dig out your old tracksuits, pants, sports jumpers and tees, as the Sports-Luxe trend has come back with a bang and is definitely here to stay!
This street style-influence is a global takeover of stores and online boutiques – the only rule is to chic glam (blingy earrings, a wrist full of gold bangles or a bold, red lip colour) and you’re ready to rock.
To nail this look stock up on accessories and garments in fluoro yellow, pink and orange or black, grey, white or metallic hues of gold, silver and bronze. Almost anything goes and its sending the blogosphere sweat-pant crazy. In response, more and more designers are coming out with frenzied array of fabrics, prints and textures – the most popular being leather, silk and branded track pants (think Nike, Adidas, Lorna Jane etc) which are well-fitted and cuffed at the ankle!
I recently paired my (very un-daggy, can you believe it?) grey and black Sportsgirl ‘trackies’ with my nude Tony Bianco stilettos, a simple white tee from Witchery, a few gold jewels from Esprit and a floral tied head scarf to add a bit of uniqueness to my ensemble. The trend is daring but I had so much fun with it!
Infuse this style into your wardrobe if you are the busy girl about town often seen racing from her coffee date to her workout session, and who said you couldn’t wear your Adidas sneakers with a dress, or your boyfriend’s basketball jersey with a pair of sexy stilettos? It’s Fashion!!!!
