It’s chic, it’s warm, and it’s cruelty free!

Faux fur (otherwise known as ‘fake fur’) is the animal-friendly alternative to traditional fur clothing. The fashion week runways are filled with fabulous faux fur garments and accessories every time the Autumn/Winter seasons roll around. If the thought of wearing faux fur makes you squeal (in a good way) then this is the trend for you!

Wearing fur adds instant ‘fabulous’ to your outfit. I have noticed it can be a little bit of a rare sight around Canberra, so people will notice your fur, and they will think you are fabulous…so there is only one thing to do: rock it!

Don’t be afraid to show off your individual style. There are so many ways to wear fur and so many different colours and styles to choose from – whether it be a warm and fuzzy long-sleeved or sleeve-less vest, a beautiful long coat, a duffel coat with fur lining or fur lined boots. Add a touch of faux fur to your wardrobe if you are looking to make a statement.

When wearing fur I only have two personal rules; a little goes a long way so be sure to stay away from “cheap” looking faux fur (think luxurious, not tacky!) and if you are wearing a fur coat with, let’s say, a bold print (think Leopard…love!) then keep the rest of your outfit simple and stick to neutral colours. If you love a good clash of prints and colours then go right ahead, but you may just end up on my Fashion Police radar.

What are your thoughts on this trend?
