One of the lighter dishes is a great way to start. How about the Garlic Prawn with Avocado Salsa? Served with a raspberry and a strawberry coulis, this is a beautiful dish that highlights just how well familiar flavours can be combined into something that exceeds the sum of their parts. Absolutely stunning to look at, the tall disc of salsa supports the delicious prawns that are piled high under a nest of alfalfa sprouts.
There’s plenty for the carnivores as well. If there is one thing that is better than a beautiful, succulent piece of steak, it’s a piece of steak that is rapped in bacon. Filet Mignon made with thyme and served on a bed of mash with bright green beans adding a magnificent splash of colour.
Chicken and Avocado comes served with a creamy garlic sauce on a sweet potato rosti. And there it is… that fun and playful touch that unites and Aussie classic with a dash of sub-continental flair. The rosti adds a hit of sweetness that cuts through the richness of the cheese and avocado.
There’s always a need for something sweet to finish. The Mars Bar Cheesecake takes the nougat, caramel and chocolate flavours from the popular classic and presents them in a pretty arrangement that will have spoons attacking from all sides of the table. Add a bit of sweetness through vanilla ice-cream and raspberry coulis, and it’s the perfect dessert to round off an evening.
After that, there’s nothing more for you to do than wander over to the lounge area and kick back in front of the televisions, or have a relaxing drink with friends. Given there are over 25 wines available, and 10 beers on tap, there’s plenty to keep you entertained as you unwind across the rest of your evening at Sports Club Kaleen.
