What do you get if a doughnut and a croissant had a love child? A Cronut. A croissant and a muffin? A Cruffin. A doughnut and a lamington? A lamingtonut. Hybrid foods are all the rage, and for a good reason! To celebrate National Doughnut Day – and just our general love for the round doughy sweet things – here are a bunch of places you have to try!

Ricardo’s Café & Patisserie Jameson
Ricardo’s is sweet tooth heaven, it’s pretty much Canberra’s own Willy Wonka Factory. You’ll find both Cruffins and Cronuts here in so many flavours you’ll get dizzy… or is that just the sugar high?

Coffee Lab in the City
There’s nothing better than pairing a Coffee and a Cronut… here you’ll find favourite flavours such as Choc Raspberry, Caramel and Vanilla Cinnamon.

Chasing Mr Morris – The Hamlet
Surrounded by food vans in the little village of food vans that is, The Hamlet in Braddon. Chasing Mr Morris does Coffee and Doughnuts, simple but deliciously perfect.

Donut King
This place might remind you of your childhood. Potentially (for the ladies) why your favourite colour was, and still is PINK? The Cinnamon Doughnuts never disappoint, one is never enough. They still make the Doughnut people, stars and dinosaurs which we think is rad!

San Churro Woden
Effectively the same as a Doughnut, just not round, long and perfect for dipping in the choc sauce. And, Churro doesn’t just do churros. There’s also sundae’s, puddings and icecream.

Now, in saying all that (and getting super hungry in the process), we’re still yet to find a Lamingtonut in Canberra! Do you know where we can get one?
