Luc Wiesman is the founder and editor of Men’s style website, D’Marge.

Join him at the Canberra Centre on Friday 11 September for cocktails and canapés as he shares the upcoming season’s trends, grooming advice and gadgets for the modern man.

Describe the ‘D’Marge Man’.
He’s a jerk. But a loveable jerk. Cheeky at times but considerate when it comes to his loved ones and his shoe collection. He’s always looking for the next adventure and he’s never afraid to make an ass of himself. Most importantly he’s accountable for his decisions in life and fashion, and does his best to be a better bloke no matter his faults.

Who is your favourite Australian designer?
Probably Song For The Mute. Melvin is creating some killer clothing from Japanese fabrics. It’s very directional and street inspired, but I think it’s one of the most innovate brands we have here.

Who are your style icons?
My father. He’s always been pretty cool rocking his aviators and ripped jeans. Then the likes of Tom Ford and Lapo Elkann simply for how well they can wear a suit. I tend to go from suit to sneakers every day so being adaptable is important.

What are six pieces every guy should have in their wardrobe no matter what their individual style?
A made to measure suit that has been tailored for your exact body shape. Nothing will ever fit better.
White sneakers. They’re going to be big this season.
Nudie Jeans. They fit like a glove and for the price, you can’t go wrong.
A grey marle sweater for those chilly nights. It will go with shorts, jeans and chinos, so it’s very useful.
A black pair of oxford lace ups, my go-to suit shoe.
And finally a couple of Anderson’s belts. They’re by far the best belts on the market.

What’s the next big thing happening for Luc Wiesman?
I’m probably going to wash my hair later tonight which is pretty exciting these days. I’m under lock and key in the office due to our growth spurt but I can say that we’re currently looking at how D’Marge will live in print and TV land… so who knows.

Without giving away too much ahead of the Canberra Centre. What are the key upcoming trends for Men this season?
Cotton suits, Adidas Stan Smith sneakers and man-jewellery. Most importantly the Adidas sneakers were the trend throughout Europe this spring.

Where is your favourite place to eat when visiting Canberra?
I’ve actually spent a lot of time there in a previous life, but I do enjoy QT Canberra and the National Gallery. You know, for a bit of culture.

Thanks Luc.
