In 2015, much of our lives are about economy. No, not the boring one that’s on the news every night, but the way we spend our money and the effect we have on the environment.

‘Food miles’ are a real thing, and fashionistas gather at Three Sixty Fashion Market to up-cycle and recycle pre-loved clothes. At the end of the day, it’s an economical thing to do, and this Saturday, the market returns to the Fitter’s Workshop near the Old Bus Depot Markets in Kingston for an exciting new event with a fitting show hitting the runway.

Since launching in 2007, Canberra label, Pure Pod, has gained national attention for it’s environmentally friendly ethos that is matched to classic and timeless designs. ‘Talking Flight – The Runway’ will see Pure Pod lead the parade with its capsule collection, ‘Trouvaille, (or something lovely discovered by chance).

The collection is part of a broader concept that sees Pure Pod collaborating with prestige electric car manufacturer BMWi to expand conscious living through not only your choice of what you wear, but also the car you drive.

Rolfe BMW Marketing Manager, Emma Crowther, shares a long friendship with Pure Pod’s Kelli Donovan. That friendship has borne a collaboration that ties in the Australian label with BMW’s recent push into environmentally-minimalist transport. This collaboration has led to some amazing innovation including Kelli creating a dress from recycled swatches of BMW seat leather.

Three Sixty Fashion Market’s Creative Director, Nathan Harris is understandably excited by it all. “It will be a great chance for people to come and see the collection this year and proves that when it comes to style, Canberra is keeping up with international trends towards sustainable style with a social conscience, rather than poorly produced fast fashion.”

“We’ve enjoyed watching this movement grow across Australia and are glad to be a part of it. Making choices to buy products with a reduced environmental footprint and support local designers are a great way to support this campaign away from disposable fashion trends and better quality clothes that last.”
