Built in the 1920’s The Famous Spiegeltent has provided generations of entertainment all around the world. This summer the Canberra Theatre Centre will be hosting the big top from 19 February to 14 March. The Famous Spiegeltent will have you in stitches with some amazing performances by your favourite stand-up comedians. Gorgeous, talented and wickedly funny Dolly Diamond will take the stage for her stand-up show ‘Alive and Intimate’ on Thursday 3 March. But if stand up isn’t your forté strap yourself in for a number comedic musical shows and theatrical performances.
It’ll make you cry…
You’ll be taken on a journey back in time with Bijou to a period where this beautiful Madame was young and full of life, as she shares her intimate yet colourful memories. Experience our past politicians as Max Gilles reminisces on their famous speeches and the moments that stopped the nation.
It’s a bit sexy…
Cabaret and burlesque are bringing sexy back to the big top. Sexy, funny and dangerous, La Clique is The Famous Spiegeltent’s headline performance throughout its time at The Canberra Theatre Centre. Enjoy this new variety of show that combines all that the big top has to offer. This one is definitely an adult only must see!

With a number of musicians, bands and groups taking to the stage at The Famous Spiegeltent you’ll be moshing for more every night. From the velvet-coated voice of No Hausfrau, to the rocking beats of Canberra’s favourite Cell Block 69, there is something for everyone.
It’ll test the limits…
From magic shows and strange slam poets to cabaret’s performed in drag, The Famous Spiegeltent is sure to test the limits. If you’re looking for something a little different get to the big top this summer. Experience the Bugle Boys as they frock up to perform some of Patty, Maxene and LaVerne’s most beloved songs. Or perhaps you would prefer the one woman show of Yana Alana as she returns to the stage after time in rehab to bare all through song, poetry and an interesting style of dance.
