There’s no standing still for Canberra’s annual red-carpet fashion event, and 2016 is no exception.

FASHFEST has announced a new season, new dates and an increase in the number of shows it will present.

The event has shifted to warmer months. In 2016 it will strut its stuff from 29 September to 1 October which means there won’t be any chill in the air for guests keen to wear their hottest fashion.

Clint Hutchinson, co-founder, says the shift means FASHFEST lines up beautifully with the other major fashion show in Australian, including Melbourne and Sydney. So it was a logical move.

Designer applications are out now and designers can apply online at www.fashfest.com.au The deadline is 14 February.

Once more, FASHFEST is supporting local designers but also designers from interstate and even overseas. ‘We’re still super keen on independent labels, but the event must grow,’ says Andrea Hutchinson, also an event co-founder.

Another shift is the number of shows. In 2016, FASHFEST will present no fewer than six shows—two per night. Planning is underway for how the shows will roll out … so stay tuned.

The award-winning National Convention Centre is once more the venue and will be powered by sound and lighting that will transform the space into true ‘wow factor’.
