Enlighten Night Noodle Markets 2016 is bigger and better than ever before – and definitely better organised. Set amongst the beautiful backdrop of Lake Burley Griffin, the lantern-lit event was always going to be a hit.

This year the event was double the size in layout and much more crowd friendly – even when it was busy you didn’t feel like sheep hurdled into a pen. With ample tables, seating and considerably more local and national food vendors this is the event to visit during the Enlighten Festival 2016.

It was easy to see that the organisers had put a great deal of thought into this year’s event after the shambles that occurred last year. The event appreciates that Canberrans love their food and flock in huge swarms to get their hands on the goodies offered at the noodle markets.

With some of the best dishes available in Canberra (notably the Hoi Panoi chicken and pork skewers) the markets do not disappoint. The best part is if you want a drink, don’t worry about getting up, there is bar service at every table! Once you’ve got your food and you sit down to enjoy it, you can have someone bring you a refreshing cider or beer without having to battle another queue.

This year the markets have been incredibly well executed and the food vendors are organised and ready for masses of people.
