Sage

Rated one of the best restaurants in Canberra, Sage is truly a fine dining experience. The dishes will set you back some considerable dollars, however, for food lovers, the experience will be worth every cent – especially sharing the experience with your Valentine. 

La Rustica

Located at Kingston Foreshore, La Rustica offers great Italian food and a ridiculous amount of choice, both in food and price. This is the ideal dinner for the picky eaters out there, as you can get traditional Italian food or a parmi that’s just a bit fancier than your usual.

White Rabbit

This cocktail bar’s quirky vibe is perfect for pre-dinner or post-dinner drinks with your Valentine or friends. There is also a small but serious range of savory and sweet dishes that are just as delicious as the carefully crafted cocktails.

Lazy Su

For something a little different and fun to do with your date head to Lazy Su. Voted favourite restaurant in OutInCanberra’s People’s Choice Awards last year, it won’t disappoint!

Snapper on the Lake

Head on down to the lake for some classic fish and chips and maybe a cheeky wine or two and watch the sun go down on a sunny afternoon with some tunes playing in the background. Absolutely stunning looking over Canberra!

Openair Cinema

Enjoy a date with Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone this Valentine’s Day at American Express Openair Cinema. Join them for an evening under the stars at Patrick White Lawns as La La Land lights up the big screen. If you’re short of company, doggos are welcome each and every night and Valentine’s is no different! Give your pup the VID (Very Impawtant Dog) treatment with their own canine couch and complementary doggy donut. If food is the way to your lover’s heart, Salt Meats Cheese have you covered with their menu of arancini antipasti and wood-fired pizzas. To wash it down, Giesen wine will be pouring 400 glasses of sparkling wine!

Escape Room

Possibly the least romantic of dates but still super fun, and maybe better suited to a Valentine’s spent with friends, is the Escape Room. The idea is that you are locked in a room with a group of people (or just your loved one) and have to work through different puzzles in order to escape the room within 60 minutes. This is a slightly more thrilling and interactive Valentine’s idea for those not so keen on a conventional dinner date.

Classic Picnic

Head to Dobinson’s Café in Belconnen or Civic, or your favorite local bakery and grab some fresh and flavorsome rolls/sandwiches/baguettes (the Roma roll at Dobinson’s is freakin’ amazing) and pick up some sneaky desserts. Head straight to the lakeside with a rug or table cover in hand, or set up a spot in your own garden, and enjoy!

GoBoat

If the day turns out to be a sunny one, what a better and more fun activity, that’s also romantic, than GoBoat Canberra. If you and your partner are the active type, grab some other couples and head out on the water for a ride or two!
