Canberrans will climb to the equivalent of the height of Mt Everest in this year’s Kathmandu Neverest Challenge.
On Friday 23 and Saturday 24 March, teams will ascend and descend Mt Ainslie in the early hours of the morning, completing a combined total of 53 laps to cover a total distance of 106km. Those feeling more adventurous and choosing to complete the mission solo will begin their trek from 6pm on Friday evening.
The Neverest Challenge raises funds for the Australian Himalayan Foundation, who assists with health, education and the environment in the Himalaya.
The foundation achieved some amazing outcomes in 2016-17, including the assistance of 29,643 schoolchildren and the fundraising of more than $1.1million.
