The NGA Welcomes Breath-taking Art From ‘American Masters’ – August 28th – 11th November

For those with a passion for the finer things in life, this one’s for you! The National Gallery of Australia are about to launch their newest exhibition, American Masters, with outstanding American art from the 1940s to the 1980s. This free event runs daily from 10am-5pm and includes many genres including Abstract, Pop and Photo-Realism and famous names such as James Turrell, Andy Warhol and Louise Bourgeois.

Spirit the night away painting and creative drinking – August 29th

In honour of one of the most reputable anime films of all time, Treehouse is hosting a ‘Spirited Away’ themed 2-hour painting session filled with wine, beer and cocktails. Tickets are $49pp and includes all the painting equipment you need. Drinks can be purchased at the event so make sure to bring your photo I.D.

This Terrarium Workshop Is Our Cup of Tea – August 30th

ATTENTION ALL MAD-HATTERS! Treehouse and Flipside Creative Events are hosting a workshop where you will be building your own terrarium inside of glass teapots while sipping on wine, beer and cocktails. Tickets are $60, and food and drink will be available for purchase at the event.

The Perfect Way to Do Yoga with An Active Bub – September 3rd

Let your baby run (or crawl) wild while you perfect your downward dog. Flourish Yoga is hosting a yoga class for mums and their crawling or walking bubs. The class welcomes students of any experience level and includes songs and music for the little ones too. The class runs Monday nights from 7:15-8:30pm and costs $180 for 8 weeks. Watch Girls Run the World at Rugby 7s Tournament – 8th & 9th September

The University of Canberra will be hosting a Rugby 7s tournament with the best up and coming female rugby players from around the country competing against each other. It’s a free event and will be played over two days with only the best-of-the-best making it to the end. Who run the world? GIRLS!

Cézanne: Portraits of a life – September 20th – October 11th

‘Exhibitions On Screen’ are coming to Canberra to showcase a film based on the exhibitions of Cézanne, who is argued to be the greatest artist of all time. Award-winning writer and director Phil Grabsky has put together a stunning documentary of his work which includes commentary from art experts and an interview his great-grandson Phillipe Cézanne. Floriade NightFest – September 26th – 30th

A five-day illuminated wonderland filled with comedy, music, movies and stacks of great food! The festival kicks off with movies under the stars which includes some killer pop culture throwbacks. The next few days are filled with breathtaking live music acts such as Thelma Plum, Kate Miller-Heidke and many more talented artists. The festival finishes off with a night of comedy that you won’t want to miss, with the likes of Arj Barker and Akmal Saleh gracing the stage.

ARIA-winning Rapper 360 Comes to Canberra – October 19th
