Pinot and Truffle @ Pankhurst Wines

Visit Pankhurt Wines for wine tasting over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of July, and enjoy truffle tasting as part of the Capital Country Truffle Festival.

When you pop in and try Pankhurst’s outstanding selection of wines, also enjoy a truffle platter, with a special truffle pane, to accompany your tastings.

Combined with a bit of cheese and Pankhurst’s pinot chutney, the truffle pane is very flavoursome and goes really well with the Pinot Noir.

The cellar door will be open from 10am to 5pm on both Saturday and Sunday.

Recap: Amy Meredith @ ANU Bar

Amy Meredith wrapped up their 17 date Higher Education tour at the ANU bar on Friday night. The pop rock five-piece were joined by fellow Sydney bands Bridgemary Kiss and Tonight Alive. All three bands were determined to finish off their six week tour with a bang.

Four-piece band, Bridgemary Kiss opened the night. The band were new to most of the audience, but they won over the crowd with a short, energetic set of melodic pop rock and four part harmonies. A cover of Basement Jaxx’s ‘Where’s Your Head At?’ gave the crowd their first sing-along of the night.

Recap: Owl Eyes @ Transit Bar

Fun Machine certainly know how to live up to their name. Every time I’ve seen the Canberra locals their flair for creative costumes has impressed me just as much as their music. Supporting Owl Eyes at a busy Transit Bar last Thursday, ‘sparkles’ was their theme. Appearing on stage in tiny sequined hot pants and a sleeveless vest, the lead singer’s outfit made even the straightest boys blush, leaving nothing to the imagination and showing off his physique just as much as his vocals.
