Carp-Out @ Lennox Gardens

Try your hand at carp fishing on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin at Lennox Gardens on Sunday 18th March 2012.

Enjoy time with friends and family as you help remove noxious fish species from the lake which will then be converted into fertislier.

Profits from the Carp-Out will go towards the Eden Monaro Cancer Support Group and also towards ACT’s lakes to provide further recreational fishing opportunities for the future.

Come and try ice hockey @ Phillip Ice Skating Rink

If you have ever wanted to play ice hockey, well now is your chance to give it a go. The ACT Ice Hockey Association is organising a free try-out session for women and girls.

Come down to the Phillip Ice Skating Rink on Irving Street in Phillip on Sunday 25th March 2012 to have a go. There are two different session times: 3.30-5pm is for 14 and under and 4.30-6pm is for 15 and over.

Ice hockey is a fast, fun and safe sport. No previous skating experience is necessary and equipment is provided. Skate hire is $3.

2012 National Folk Festival @ EPIC

The annual National Folk Festival is set to launch soon and is bigger than ever this year.

On Thursday 15th March, ACT Deputy Chief Minister Andrew Barr is launching the 2012 National Folk Festival in Garema Place from 12.30pm. Managing Director of the National Folk Festival, Sebastian Flynn and local bands including Pocket Fox, circus performers and a flash mob choir will also be there.
