L’unico, the one

I must have elusive Roman heritage hiding somewhere in an otherwise uninspired cockney family tree. Vespa’s have induced an impulsive head turning reflex, Leonardo Da Vinci is my historical hero and, since becoming closely acquainted with Gelato, Ice-cream has seemed somewhat redundant. It is unquestionably my favourite cuisine and I make a pretty strong point of sampling the food of every Italian restaurant I walk past, no matter the geographic location. Last night at L’unico in Kingston, I had the best Italian dining experience of my life.

Event Recap: Bushland Prodigies @ 39 Steps

Bushland Prodigies shook the peaceful inner-north suburbs with the launch of their debut album ‘The Good Sun’ a few nights ago. 39 Steps at the O’Connor shops was the intimate and quirky setting for what can only be described as a rambunctious and rousing performance from the two young local MC’s and it was a Daddy Issues event. I didn’t know it at the start of the night, but I was quite possibly about to witness the album launch of the next big thing in Australian hip-hop.

Toasted with love

Walking into a restaurant these days is like playing Russian roulette with your palate; sometimes you’re left thrilled and excited for the next round – other times however, you’re wondering why you bothered; not the case with my recent experience at Ha Ha Bar.

Ha Ha Bar managed to take the pain out of my night out, and left my stomach expressing gratitude all the way home. There was no second-guessing; no wishing I’d stayed in and had that home cooked meal; I was at peace.
