Oishi on Garema place in Civic is the latest Japanese restaurant to open their doors in the capital. The decor is a contemporary spin on traditional colours, with black lacquered flooring, spacious dark wooden tables (no elbowing fellow diners here!) and brilliant red accents such as lights and table caddies. The food philosophy here is clean, fresh and sustainable. All ingredients served to patrons are purchased and used on the day without exception – and the quality really shows.

A bite to eat with views

The Deck is situated on top of Regatta Point overlooking the picturesque Lake Burley Griffin. The views are 360 degrees and are quite breath-taking.

We are seated at our table inside as we await the entrée. The area inside is large and airy and the deck area outside is much the same. With modern outdoor furniture on the deck, it looks like a great place for afternoon drinks in the warmer weather or a latte (with an outdoor heater) in the winter months.

Springbank Rise Doggy Day

Springbank Rise Doggy Day is on Sunday 26th May at Springbank Rise Dog Park from 11am-3pm.

The second Springbank Rise Doggy Day is another fantastic free event for families to come along to visit Springbank Rise and test out the Springbank Rise dog park.

Special guest, Dr Katrina Warren, will be on site showing off her border collies in her ‘Wonder Dogs’ show and to meet and greet everyone from 12:30.
One lucky entrant will also win a VIP pass to meet Dr Katrina and ask her about their pet.
